Serial LCD's speed has nothing to do with the upper microcontroller, mainly related to the baud rate of the serial port.

Serial LCD is suitable for colorful interface and complex display text, the upper computer performance is not high products.
Parallel port LCD is suitable for simple interface, real-time data acquisition display, high-speed drawing products.
4. System Structure
Serial port LCD mainly includes serial communicator, Flash controller, LCD controller, SDRAM controller, bus controller, etc. It accepts commands from the host computer through the serial port and executes the corresponding display operation after translation. The image and word bank are saved in Flash in advance and called directly.
Parallel port LCD screen is mainly composed of LCD controller, SDRAM controller, parallel port controller, etc. The agreed data sent to the parallel port is temporarily stored and displayed under the control of the clock, that is, what information is sent to me to display what content.

The price of parallel-port LCD screen is cheaper than the serial LCD screen.
