When we develop and design LCD liquid crystal module, the first thing to consider is what temperature range of LCD liquid crystal material to choose.
LCD module work is divided into: room temperature 0℃ ~ 50℃, wide temperature -20℃ ~ 70℃, ultra-wide temperature -30℃ ~ 80℃, some special industries choose -40℃ of very special materials to design.
The working range of wide temperature is -20℃ ~ 70℃, then in the environment below -20℃ and above 70℃, the LCD theoretically can not work, but if the temperature has not reached -20℃ and 70℃, but is already very close, so to speak, the limit temperature, when the LCD can still work properly?
This is also a lot of customers will raise questions, even if the use of wide temperature LCD, in the case of lowering the temperature to below zero, the font began to become very light, and in the case of rising temperatures, the word become very dark, what is going on?
In fact, from the principle of the LCD screen is well understood, the LCD screen can display a variety of patterns or strokes, is due to the liquid crystal box in the work, and liquid crystal, as the name suggests, is a liquid, must be affected by the environment, the temperature is high when the liquid crystal will heat up, the flow rate is accelerated, the feedback to the display is that the color becomes very dark, and the temperature is low, the liquid crystal will begin to crystallize, the flow rate becomes slower, the display refresh rate will become very slow, not that it can not be displayed, but the normal time of display will be much slower than the room temperature environment. From the operating temperature of the LCD monitor, we can only say that it can work within this temperature range and will not appear completely white screen or failure state, but it can not avoid the change of display rate due to the change of ambient temperature.
Generally speaking, the wide temperature LCD module, for example, from -5℃ and 50℃, the display rate will change significantly, to -20℃ and 70℃, it reached the limit temperature, basically has been unable to use, so we usually advise customers, if the actual use of the temperature has been close to the limit temperature, you must choose a wider temperature range of liquid crystal to use, of course, if you want the LCD module can always display the same effect at room temperature, that can only be achieved through external heating or cooling.
