The reason why the number of characters on the LCD display is disconnected

I believe most of my friends have encountered this situation. When the LCD display screen is in use or just turned on, the number of words or letters in it will be defective. How much do you know about this series of reasons?

What is certain about LCD display screens is that this is a bad phenomenon, and this bad phenomenon also has many nice names, such as missing pen segments and missing strokes.
Back to the topic, when the LCD display screen encounters this situation, you must first find out the cause and then solve the problem. This phenomenon of missing paragraphs can be divided into two types, one is regular missing paragraphs, and the other is irregular missing paragraphs. Let's first talk about the regular missing segments. Compare the truth table in the LCD drawing and focus on whether the displayed segments are on the same COM pin or the same SEG pin. Then how can we remove the difference ?

1. First check whether there are false welding phenomena on the corresponding COM pins and SEG pins.

2. Check whether the corresponding pins are damaged, which affects the conductivity and causes missing segments. Of course, there must be some special reasons for this. Some friends have asked before that there is no problem with the LCD screen at first, but after a while this will cause missing pen sections, which was later analyzed to be due to the manufacturer's cutting corners, leading to oxidation of the PCB. In the end, the poor electrical performance we saw resulted in missing segments.

3. It's because of irregular missing paragraphs. What does it mean? The main thing is that it is not the same COM or the same SEG. This situation is unlikely to be caused by the PCB hardware or the LCD display screen.

So we first need to find the problem in the program, get one of the pen segments that is not displayed, use the instrument to correspond to the waveforms of the two, and then test the corresponding two and compare the screenshots, so that we can analyze where the problem is with the software.
