How to determine the number of segment code LCD backlight beads?

The fully transparent LCD screen in the segment code LCD screen needs a backlight to display the content; the semi-transparent screen can be equipped with a backlight or not according to the application field of the product; the LCD screen with only reflection does not need a backlight.

So how to choose the number of lamp beads in the backlight? Is it related to the display type and size of the LCD screen?

Today, I will give you an example to share my own opinion in two situations. One is to put a lamp bead at a distance of 10mm-20mm according to the size of the LCD screen and the length of the backlight. For example, the size of the backlight is 60*40mm, and the light is on the 40 side, so the number of lamp beads in the backlight is 2-4. Another example is that the size of the backlight is 90*40mm, and the light is still on the side of 40. Because the length of the backlight exceeds 70mm, the backlight needs to be on both sides, so 2-4 lamp beads are required on the left and right sides.

The other is according to the display type of the LCD screen, there are two types: positive display and negative display. For example, the size of the backlight is 60*40mm, and the lights are on the side of 40. The positive display screen only needs 2 lights, and even considering the cost, one light T bead is enough; while the negative display screen of this size needs 2-4 Only one lamp bead can display clearly, and the contrast of the LCD screen is high.

If the LCD screen is made of VA technology, and the black background and white characters are displayed, the number of backlight beads should be increased accordingly. For example, for an LCD screen of the same size, when using HTN negative display technology, the backlight is 2 lamp beads on one side; when changing to VA technology, the backlight needs to be changed to 3-4 lamp beads on one side to highlight the high contrast of the LCD screen. The background color should be particularly black, and the strokes should be particularly white.

When we choose the number of backlight beads, we generally combine the above two situations, which are determined according to the size of the screen and the display type. Generally speaking, it is determined according to the needs of customers.
